-
Community
At Straight Street recovery housing we offer one another support and accountability by following community standards strategically set in place to promote healthy change. We are a group of individuals who live together sharing common interests, attitudes and goals with the understanding that recovery is a lifelong commitment.
-
Structured Environment
Our community standards (set structure) foster routines and patterns aimed to strengthen and enhance your recovery. This environment helps you prioritize responsibility, shore up healthier habits, reduce unpredictability (which can be difficult in early recovery), with the goal to provide a healthier, more balanced life.
-
Mentorship
Our recovery houses are peer led and driven by senior residents who are passionate about their recovery. We also partner with local faith based and 12 step programs for mentorship. A recovery mentor is someone who can provide you with guidance, motivation, and role modeling as you pursue your recovery journey.
What to expect at Straight Street Recovery Housing
Straight Street offers a safe place for individuals to create a foundation for a lifelong commitment to recovery from addiction. Our homes are peer led and structured with a specific set of community standards designed by leaders who have lived experience who are now in long term recovery.
Pathway to recovery
We believe there are multiple pathways to recovery and every resident's journey is their own. A pathway may include clinical treatment, faith-based approaches, 12 steps, medical assisted treatment, peer support, family support and self care. The goal of Straight Street is to assist people they serve to make transitions into independent, productive and meaningful lives of their own choosing.
social model of recovery
Social Model Approach programs like Straight Street focus on peer-to-peer interactions and individual recovery instead of generic treatments and clinical recovery options. These programs also help individuals understand the impact their addictions have on themselves, their families, and their communities. The Social Model Approach encourages personal interaction with community members with similar problems to collaborate, support, and share inspiring stories with each other.
